Founded in May 1988, the MADIS is the main research center specialized in Operational Research, Systems Engineering, Management Science, Computer Science and Applied Mathematics. Nowadays MADIS possesses a large number of internationally well-known scholars, who have won many scientific awards both at home and abroad. 

 

 

Founded in June 1985, the IPM focuses on development strategy, development and reform policy, public administration, S&T management, and advanced theories and methodologies in related disciplines. Since its establishment, the institute has attained high-quality research results and received a number of national, ministerial and provincial prizes. It is active in offering high-level consultative services to central authorities, CAS, local governments and enterprises.

 

 

NSLC was integrated from four institutions subordinated to CAS in March 2006, including Documentation and Information Center, Information Center for Resources and Environment Science, Chengdu Documentation and Information Center and Wuhan Documentation and Information Center. Now it has won a second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award and nine second prizes of CAS’s Science and Technology Progress Award. Currently, it has undertaken more than 100 research projects commissioned by the state, provinces, ministries, CAS and local governments.

 

 

CCAP is dedicated to high quality strategic and applied research on China’s agriculture and rural economy. It joined the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research (IGSNRR), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in October, 2000 and is one of the first Innovation research groups sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation of China. The four core research projects of CCAP are as follows: Agricultural Science and Technology Policy, Resources and Environmental Policy, Balanced Development of City and Country and Poverty Alleviation, and Agricultural Products Policy Analysis and Decision Support System.

 

 

Established in September 2007, the FEDS is committed to studying on the features and operating rules of the fictitious economy through empirical methods and data techniques, and seeking theories and principles of data science from the phenomena of fictitious economy, knowledge economy and regional economy. Complying with the strategic planning of Phase Ⅲ innovation project of CAS, the center actively explores collaboration with local enterprises and universities on the research of data techniques and knowledge-based economy. With reference to the characteristics of data techniques and knowledge-based economy as cross-discipline subjects, the center can be roughly divided into three functional modules, i.e., Basic Theories, Application-based Research, and Strategic Consultation. Currently, the Center has four research labs: Fictitious Economy and Finance Research Lab, Data Mining and Optimization Research Lab, Low-Carbon Economy Research Lab and Virtual Business Research Lab.

 

  • Joint Laboratory of CAS- Reuters Financial Risk Management

 

Joint Laboratory of CAS-Reuters Financial Risks Management (hereinafter referred to as Joint Lab) was established under the agreement signed in October 2004 among CAS Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, GUCAS and Reuters Group, the global leading information provider. With software and hardware equipment donated by Reuters, the Lab is a financial risk management research center and an educational facility for talent nurturing. Being recognized as a first-class research, educational and training platform in China, the Joint Lab has set its goal of developing into a research, educational and academic exchange institution catering to strategic requirements  in ensuring national economic and financial security with enormous influence at the frontiers of international economic and financial development, as well as the most prestigious consulting and training center in China satisfying the needs of Chinese financial market development. Major functions include innovative research in the area of financial risk management, talents nurturing in financial derivatives transaction and risk management, research and development of financial derivatives and financial risk management system, as well as policy research on China’s financial and economic security.

 

 

CAS Forecast Science Research Center was officially set up in February 2006. Through active participation in major scientific research projects, the center has given full play to the overall advantages of various related sub-disciplines, achieved a range of theoretical research outcomes with significant influence in the fields of forecast science, economic analysis, management science and policy science, and made outstanding contributions to the decision-making of central and local governments, as well as produced a widespread influence. Its research has gained attention and high appraise from state leaders, decision-making departments, international academic, economic and financial fields. The center has four affiliated forecast research departments: Department of Agricultural Product Forecast, Department of Strategic Resources Forecast, Department of Macro Economic Forecast, and Department of International Market Forecast.
