Executive Vice Dean Prof. Wang Shouyang Visited Three Business Schools in Turkey

Prof. Wang Shouyang, Executive Dean of School of Management, visited the business schools of Istanbul University, Middle East Technical University and Istanbul Technical University during his participation in the 2013 EFMD Deans & Directors General Conference from January 27th to February 2nd.

 

The Deans of the Business Schools of these three top Turkish Universities received Prof. Wang respectively. During the visits, Prof. Wang discussed the potential cooperation between School of Management and the Turkish Business Schools. The student/faculty exchange, the joint academic research, the dual degree programs and the executive development programs would be carried out between each other in the future.

 

Prof. Wang’s visit to Turkey this time was accompanied by the Dean’s Assistant, Associate Prof. Lu Ping.

Istanbul University, one of the oldest universities in Turkey and also one of the first European universities, was founded in 1453. There are twenty faculties and three schools in the Universities; and the number of the academic and administrative staffs in the university is 12300 in total. The Institute of Business Economics has now passed the AACSB accreditation.

 

Middle East Technical University was founded under the name of "Orta Doğu Yüksek Teknoloji Enstitüsü" (Middle East High Technology Institute) on November 15th, 1956 to contribute to the development of Turkey and Middle East countries and especially to train people so as to create a skilled workforce in the fields of natural and social sciences. Today, there are about 750 faculty (professors, associates professors etc.) and over 23,000 students in the university. In addition to the Master and PhD education, the MBA and EMBA courses are also conducted by the Faculty of Business Administration.

 

Istanbul Technical University was established in 1773. There are 13 faculties in the university, and there are two departments under the Faculty of Management, namely, the Industrial Engineering Department and the Management Engineering Department.
