Dean Cheng Siwei Visited Russia and Romania

Dean Cheng Siwei and the delegation from School of Management visited Russia and Romania from May 31st to June 7th.

 

Dean Cheng and his assistant Mr. Li Zhen, accompanied by the officers from China Embassy visited Irkutsk State Technical University of Russia from May 31st to June 2nd.

 

After that, Dean Cheng Siwei, Executive Vice Dean, Prof. Wang Shouyang, and the delegation of School of Management participated in the Second International Information Technology and Quantitative Management Conference (ITQM 2014) from June 3rd to 5th. ITQM Conference was organized by International Information Technology and Quantitative Management Society (IAITQM), as the chairman of IAITQM, Vice Dean of School of Management, Prof. Shi Yong hosted the conference with Prof. Faud Aleskerov (Higher School of Economics, Russian National Research University). As the Honorary chairman of IAITQM, Prof. Cheng Siwei made the speech “The Impact of Big Data to Economic Development”.

 

From June 6th to 7th, Prof. Cheng and Prof. Shi were invited by Academician and the former Vice President of Romanian Academy of Sciences, Prof. Florin-Gheorghe Filip to visit Romanian Academy of Sciences. During their visit, they had a meeting with the Executive Vice Dean of Romanian Academy of Sciences, Academician and Prof. Cristian Hera. Prof. Cheng introduced the achievement in the virtual economy that CAS has done; meanwhile, Prof. Hera reviewed the close relation between RAS and CAS and also recalled the days that he visited China. He highly appreciated the academic achievements that CAS has accomplished these years. China ambassador in Romania, Ms. Huo Yuzhen, counselor of Romania, Mr. Zhao Deyong attended the meeting as well.

 

Subsequently, Prof. Cheng Siwei made the speech “The Impact of Big Data to Economic Development” which received highly appreciation.
