On the afternoon of Dec. 21, Prof. Guan Jiancheng made a report to the young teachers and students of School of Management on how to do innovative research and how to train the students in an innovative way.
Prof. Guan pointed out that a research oriented school should lay emphasis on research, therefore the teachers also should lay emphasis on research, especially the current research in the world. School of Management must have a clear aim and gradually fostered a group of teachers to publish papers in SSCI journals periodically. To realize the aim, the time for research work must be guaranteed and incentive mechanism must be set up.

In the training of students, Prof. Guan said, as an excellent school of management, we must foster the doctorate students to devote in the frontier research and extract scientific problems from the management practice of China and international management practice. The doctorate students should be able to make innovations in theories or methodology or solve practical management problems and publish their findings in main stream journals internationally recognized.
Prof. Guan’s report was so wonderful that everyone present felt that they had gained a lot from the lecture.
