Lecture—Data Mining in the Age of Big Data: Ten Classic Algorithms and Ten Public Issues

On the afternoon of October 18th, the lecture “Data Mining in the Age of Big Data: Ten Classic Algorithms and Ten Public Issues” was hosted in H309 of Building 6. This lecture is also the 3rd lecture in the lecture series for the postgraduates.

Professor Yu Le’an, who is also the Dean of the School of Economy and Management of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, the Candidate for the “100 Scientists Program” of CAS, and the winner of National Foundation of Youth of Excellence, was invited as the speaker for the lecture.

Prof. Yu Le’an obtained PhD from Mathematics and System Science Institute of CAS in 2005. After graduation, he worked as a researcher in the institute from which he graduated. His outstanding researches in system science, financial management and economy prediction model made him quite famous in the academic field. He was selected in the “100 Scientists Program” of CAS in 2010, and was evaluated as “Winner of National Science Foundation for Youth of Excellence” in the same year.
