Senior Diplomat Mr. Wu Jianmin Gave Speech in School of Management

Mr. Wu Jianmin, senior diplomat, former president of China Foreign Affairs University, Former Chinese Chinese Ambassador to France and Netherlands was invited to School of Management on January 11th to give a lecture to the PhD students in Defense Strategy Management Class, Innovation Management Class, and the PhD students from Xinjiang Province. This is also the fourth seminar of high-end doctoral Seminar Series. The Vice Chancellor of UCAS, Professor Su Gang, Vice Dean of School of management, Professor Shi Yong, Professor Zhao Hong, and Professor Dong Ji Chang, and director of Public Relation Office, Associate professor Qiao Han participated in this lecture. The lecture is chaired by Professor Shi Yong.

 

Prof. Su Gang, on behalf of UCAS, gave a warm welcome to Mr. Wu Jianmin first. He introduced the university, the school and also the three high-level PhD classes in School of Management to the guest.

 

The Lecture is “The Change of the World and China”. During the lecture, Mr. Wu Jianmin mainly talked about three points, namely, the importance of understanding the change of the world, the change of the world and China. He recalled the past 600-year history in China, from the Ming Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty. He pointed that once Chinese people had correct understanding towards the world, China would have social progress.

The globalization of the world brings big impact to China. The second generation of the leaders of China, which are led by Mr. Deng Xiaoping seized the opportunity of the times and took wise action which accelerated the development of China. Mr. Wu stressed that Chinese people must recognize their own best interests in twenty-first Century and keep open to the other countries to maintain development.

 

With decades of diplomatic experience, Mr. Wu Jianmin explained the relationship between the changes of the world and the development of China during the lecture. After the lecture, Mr Wu discussed some hot issues with the students and answered their questions.
