ITQM 2015 Was Successfully Held in Brazil

The Third International Conference on Information Technology and Quantitative Management,ITQM 2015 was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from July 21 to July 24. The conference was hosted by Ibmec (Instituto Brasileiro de Mercado de Capitais), and supported by Research Center on Fictitious Economy and Data Science CAS, Key Lab of Big Data Mining and Knowledge Management CAS, the government of Brazil, and the National Academy of Engineering of Brazil. The theme of the conference was “Exploring Data Science in IT and Quantitative Management”, and more than 150 famous scholars from 19 countries and areas attended the conference.

 

The opening ceremony of the conference was chaired by Professor Shi Yong, Associate Dean of School of Economics and Management, Director of Research Center on Fictitious Economy and Data Science CAS, Chairman of ITQM.

 

There were 4 keynote speeches, 4 theme speeches, and 16 seminars. Prof. Raj Reddy Carnegie Mellon University, Prof. James M. Tien from University of Miami, Prof. Po-lung Yu University of Kansas, and Prof. Heeseok Lee from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology made the keynote speeches on the conference. More than 200 papers were submitted to the conference and 176 papers were selected and published by Procedia Computer Science.

 

Different awards were also issued on the conference. Prof. Po-lung Yu won the Cheng Siwei Quantitative Management Contribution Award,. Prof. James M. Tien won the Scott Information Technology Contribution Award. Prof. Dabbala Rajagopal Reddy won the Price Award. Prof. Luiz Flavio Autran Monteiro Gomes and Fuad Aleskerov won the Best Conference Organization Award. Prof.  E. Herrera-Viedma, Prof. F. J. Cabrerizo, and Prof. S. Alonso won the 2014 Herbert Simon Award.

 

IAITQM was founded in June 2012. It is an academic platform guided by Chinese scholars. Up till now two annual conferenced of ITQM had been held, and 2015 conference was the third.
