Key Laboratory of Management, Decision and Information Systems of Chinese Academy of Sciences (MADIS, CAS)
Founded in May 1988, the MADIS is the main research center specialized in Operational Research, Systems Engineering, Management Science, Computer Science and Applied Mathematics. Nowadays MADIS possesses a large number of internationally well-known scholars, who have won many scientific awards both at home and abroad.
Center for Forecasting Science, CAS
CAS Forecast Science Research Center was officially set up in February 2006. Through active participation in major scientific research projects, the center has given full play to the overall advantages of various related sub-disciplines, achieved a range of theoretical research outcomes with significant influence in the fields of forecast science, economic analysis, management science and policy science, and made outstanding contributions to the decision-making of central and local governments, as well as produced a widespread influence. Its research has gained attention and high appraise from state leaders, decision-making departments, international academic, economic and financial fields. The center has four affiliated forecast research departments: Department of Agricultural Product Forecast, Department of Strategic Resources Forecast, Department of Macro Economic Forecast, and Department of International Market Forecast.
Center for Chinese Agricultural Policy, CAS
CCAP is dedicated to high quality strategic and applied research on China’s agriculture and rural economy. It joined the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research (IGSNRR), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in October, 2000 and is one of the first Innovation research groups sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation of China. The four core research projects of CCAP are as follows: Agricultural Science and Technology Policy, Resources and Environmental Policy, Balanced Development of City and Country and Poverty Alleviation, and Agricultural Products Policy Analysis and Decision Support System.
National Science Library of Chinese Academy of Sciences（NSLC）
NSLC was integrated from four institutions subordinated to CAS in March 2006, including Documentation and Information Center, Information Center for Resources and Environment Science, Chengdu Documentation and Information Center and Wuhan Documentation and Information Center. Now it has won a second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award and nine second prizes of CAS’s Science and Technology Progress Award. Currently, it has undertaken more than 100 research projects commissioned by the state, provinces, ministries, CAS and local governments.
The Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science (AMSS)
The Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science (AMSS) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), was founded in December 1998 with the integration of the Institute of Mathematics (established 1952), the Institute of Applied Mathematics (established 1979), the Institute of Systems Science (established 1979), the Institute of Computational Mathematics and Scientific/Engineering Computing (established 1995). In the past 60 years, the AMSS has made outstanding contributions to the development of Chinese mathematics and systems science as well as to the national economy.
CAS Institutes of Science and Development (CASISD)
CAS Institutes of Science and Development (CASISD) is a research organization supporting the Academic Divisions of CAS (CASAD) to play its role as China’s highest advisory body in science and technology, and a comprehensive integration platform for CAS to build a high-level national S&T think tank. In May 2015, CASISD was set up as an unincorporated organization affiliated to the CAS Institute of Policy and Management (IPM), with an objective to coordinate relevant resources to explore an efficient mechanism for the sustainable development of strategic studies. Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASIA)
Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASIA), as one of the earliest national automation institutes in China, was established in October, 1956. For over sixty years, CASIA has made great contributions to national economy construction, social progress, scientific and technological development and national security. The institute has developed effective innovative pilot projects and made significant achievements focusing on scientific and technological innovation, industrialization of scientific and technological achievements, team construction and talent training, reform of system and mechanism.The institute focuses on three main areas of intelligent technology: intelligent processing of massive information; intelligent control of complex systems; and integrated intelligent systems.
