Professor Chen Dunji from National Taiwan Normal University Brought a Series of Academic Seminars

On the week of March 14th, Prof. Chen Dunji of National Taiwan Normal University was invited to give a series of academic seminars to graduate students at the School of Economics and Management of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

 

On March 14th and 15th, Prof. Chen gave a seminar on “Research Methodology” to the PhD candidates of class 2015, students of Xinjiang Class and part of master candidates. The seminar was hosted by Prof. Zhao Hong, vice dean of the School of Economics and Management. Combining with his own experiences, using a large number of examples, Prof. Chen pellucidly introduced the right attitude and basic method to do research well, what the students should pay attention to while writing papers and publishing papers, from the perspective of carrying out a large number of research, acquiring the data, case analysis, proposing solutions.

 

On March 16th and 17th, students of 2015 Xinjiang Class, part of PhD and master candidates enjoyed a lecture of “Tourism Management” given by Prof. Chen. Prof. Chen is very familiar with all types of global tourism resources. He had performed in-depth research on tourism resource development, tourism management. At his lecture, Prof. Chen introduced the categories of tourism in detail, including vacation tourism, eco-tourism, graduation tourism, honeymoon tourism, medical tourism, conference tourism, business tourism, religious tourism, cultural tourism, scientific investigation tourism and sports events tourism, etc. Combining the cases of Las Vegas and Taiwan tourism development, he emphasized the importance of image marketing and promotion of tourism destination, as well as the promoter action of infrastructure construction, such as transportation and restaurant. He also presented advanced tourism management methods to the students.

 

On March 18th, Prof. Chen brought a lecture on “New Intelligent Economy” to the students of 2015 Xinjiang Class, part of PhD and master candidates. At this lecture, Prof. Chen introduced the basic concepts, evolution, development goals, the five characteristics, key scientific and technological knowledge of new intelligent economy in detail. He proposed major trends of the development of related industries in new intelligent economy, including industrial 4.0robotics, bank 3.0, intelligent city, O2O and other related knowledge. At last, examples were given to illustrate the application of intelligent economy to public service, especially to intelligent transportation and intelligent tourisms. All presented students benefited a lot from the lecture. They realized that new intelligent economy had come, and man faced great changes. We shall play a great role in the new intelligent economy era by seizing the opportunity, taking the initiative to adapt to these changes.

 

Prof. Chen Dunji got his PhD in transportation engineering from National Taiwan University. He has served as dean of the school of management of Tamkang University, vice president of Kaohsiung Food and Beverage University, dean of the school of management of Taiwan Normal University. He has accumulated profound theory foundation and practical experience in tourism management, transportation, economy analysis, intelligent transportation industry, air transport management, logistics and supply chain management and other fields. He has published more than 90 papers in the domestic and international academic journals and conferences. His research achievements have been award-winning.
