At the invitation of Dean Wang Shouyang, Professor K.K. Lai from City University of Hong Kong visited School of Economics and Management on May 30. Professor Lai delivered a lecture on AACSB. Vice Dean Wu Desheng, Vice Dean Zhao Hong, Vice Dean Dong Jichang, and AACSB team attended the lecture.
Professor Lai pointed out that AACSB aims at improving the management education in the universities, and he said that the mission of a school is the core of the AACSB and all the arrangement of the school should be carried out around the mission. Then Professor Lai introduced the process and standards of the accreditation, and emphasized that the accreditation involves teaching, research and management. Professor Lai also mentioned the challenges business schools were facing and answered the questions put forward by the audience.
Participating in international accreditations and realizing continuous improvement of the quality of education is the trend in the internationalization of business schools. The meaning and value of accreditation are multiple for business schools, and being accredited would certainly guide the internationalization of our school.
