Academic report on "Behavioral Research Based on Big Data" by Professor Jia Jianmin of the Chinese University of Hong Kong

On the morning of March 16, Professor Jia Jianmin of the Chinese University of Hong Kong was invited to attend the International Academic Forum on the Keyuan Economic and Management, at Room S102 of the Zhongguancun teaching building, with the topic of "Behavioral Research Based on Big Data". The report was presided over by Professor Wang Shouyang, dean of the School of Economics and Management of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and was also attended by Professor Zhaohong, dean of the Sino-Danish College of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and associate professor Qiao Han, deputy dean of the School of Economics and Management of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Professor Jia mainly introduced the experience of behavior research based on mobile big data in recent years and related academic achievements, including how to use the "time-space relationship" of big data to gain insight into today's business problems, how to search for research problems through big data, how to integrate big data into behavior research, how to carry out field experiments and natural experiments on big data, how to solve the causal relationship problems in the research of big data behavior. Among them, this lecture focuses on the following research issues: altruistic behavior in mobile social networks, emergency communication behavior in earthquake situations, impact of mobile app use on disaster perceived risk, the importance of embedding relationship in social networks, and the influence of home network embedding structure on network behavior. This lecture demonstrates new approaches and new perspectives that big data may open for management and social science research with a number of practical work by Professor Jia.
