On the morning of July 4, SEM held a grand graduation ceremony for 389 master and doctoral graduates who had successfully completed their studies and obtained degrees. Graduates dressed in caps and gowns, full of joy of harvest and beautiful vision for the future, gathered together to open a new chapter in life with the blessings and expectations of their families, relatives, teachers and friends.
Unlike the graduation ceremony in the past, due to the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic, some 2020 graduates failed to take part in their graduation ceremony and they were invited to join the 2021 graduates in the commencement ceremony. Therefore, more than 600 graduates came to the ceremony, and other teachers and students who were unable to come to the scene witnessed this important moment online.
Junshe Dong and Yongmiao Hong delivered speeches in turn on behalf of UCAS and SEM. They wished the graduates a bright future and hoped the graduates would often come back to the school as the school would always be their home. Representative of the tutors, Professor Cuihong Yang and Professor Xielin Liu expressed the warmest congratulations and sincere wishes to all graduates in their speeches. Seven representatives of the 2020 and 2021 graduates recalled their life and study inUCAS, and expressed their reluctance to leave the school and their gratitude to their teachers, as well as their deep blessings.
