On April 14, 2022, Elsevier, a global information analysis company, released the 2021 list of "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers". The list takes Scopus, the global authoritative citation and index database, as the statistical source of scientific research achievements of Chinese researchers, and adopts the selection method designed by Shanghai Ranking, and finally obtains 4701 Chinese researchers with the most global influence in various disciplines. The list covers 84 first-tier disciplines in 10 disciplines of the Ministry of Education, and the researchers on the list are from 523 universities, enterprises and scientific research institutions.
Eight scholars from SEM are on the list: Shouyang Wang (Management Science and Engineering), Yongmiao Hong (Statistics), Yong Shi (Management Science and Engineering), Jiancheng Guan (Management Science and Engineering), Jianping Li (Management Science and Engineering), Desheng Wu (Management Science and Engineering), Linxiu Zhang (Agricultural and Forestry Economic Management) and Bo Liu (Operations Research Management).
