SEM and the Institute of Economics, Academia Sinica jointly held a seminar on on the frontier development of econometrics on April 15, 2022. The seminar was held online. Professor Yongmiao Hong, Dean of SEM, and Professor Kong-pin Chen, Director of the Institute of Economics, Academia Sinica, delivered welcoming speeches respectively.
In the reports session, Yuying Sun, Associate Prof. of the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, and the Center for Forecasting, CAS, Le-yu Chen, Associate Researcher of the Institute of Economics, Academia Sinica, Jun-hua Su, Assistant researcher of the Institute of Economics, Academia Sinica, Jiajing Sun, Associate Prof. of SEM, and Yu-jin Xu, researcher of the Institute of Economics, Academia Sinica, made academic reports in turn. Yuying Sun's report is entitled "Penalized time varying model averaging". Le-yu Chen's report is entitled "Spare quantitative regression". Jun-hua's Su report is entitled "Non regression forecasting with egalitarian committees", and Jiajing Sun' s report is entitled "Kolmogorov Smirnov type statistics for structural breaks and parameter consistency". Yujin Xu's report is entitled "influence for ROC curves based on estimated predictive indices". The participants and the reportors had a heated discussion in the Q&A session.
Finally, Yongmiao Hong and Kong-pin Chen summarized the successful experience, put forward expectations for young teachers and students, and looked forward to strengthening academic exchanges and conducting cooperative research in more academic fields, such as macroeconomics, microeco
