On the morning of Sept. 3, School of Management held the opening ceremony for the new students in Zhongguancun Classroom Building. About 280 new students, including doctoral students, master students and MBA students, attended the ceremony.
Prof. Su Gang, the vice president of UCAS, spoke on behalf of the school. He introduced the history of the school, explained the background, purpose and significance and impact of changing the name of the school form GUCAS to UCAS. Su Gang also briefly introduced the guiding principles, the faculty, the distribution of campuses, the constitution of students and the curriculum of UCAS. He hoped that the students would make good use of time at school and study hard.
Prof. Wang Shouyang, the Executive dean of School of Management, spoke on behalf of the School of Management. He reviewed the development and the academic strength of management science of CAS, and narrated the great contributions of masters such as Qian Xuesen, Hua Luogeng, Cheng Siwei and Xu Guozhi etc. in management and economic science in China. He also hoped that the students would have great life goals, the sense of mission and the sense of responsibility.
Chen Jianming, a researcher form Institute of Policy and Management, CAS spoke on behalf of the institutes. He hoped that the students would make a good arrangement for their life, study and research while studying at school.
Teachers’ representative, associate prof. Zhang Lingling shared her studying experience. She also put forward recommendations on study to students. Wu Sheng and Li Feng, on behalf of the new students, expressed their gratitude to School of Management. They said that they would study hard and pay back the school and the teachers with excellent grades.
