“Towards the Next Industrial Revolution” Held Successfully

James M. Tien, distinguished professor and Dean of College of Engineering, University of Miami, gave an academic report to the faculty and students of School of Management on Oct. 29. The report was entitled “Towards the Next Industrial Revolution” and Prof. Wang Shouyang, the executive dean of School of Management hosted the report.

 

Prof. Wang first introduced Prof. Tien’s academic background and achievements, then he presented the letter of appointment as an honorary professor at School of Management to Prof. Tien. As an honorary professor, Prof. Tien would provide more help and support in research to students of School of Management.

Following that, Prof. Tien explained in detail the evolution of three industrial revolutions, the intellectualization of services, the differences between services and products, the analysis of big data, the instant management of supply and demand chain and etc. Prof. Tien’s report greatly broadened the students’ mind.
