On Nov. 25, 2012, School of Management organized an Alumni activity for MBA graduates. The graduates admitted to school in the year 2004 and 2005 were invited to return to school for a gathering.
“Hello, how have you been?”, “Hey, long time no see!”. Hugging, shaking hands, warm greeting could be seen and heard everywhere in the hall of the building. Everyone was happy to see their classmates at the school again after so many years.
Prof. Dong Jichan, the vice dean of School of Management hosted the activity. He expressed the warm welcome to the alumni. Miao Jianming, the vice president of UCAS made an address. He introduced the changes of the university in the past year, explained the reasons of GUCAS changing her name to UCAS, hoped that the alumni association could help the alumni’s development. Hua Guang, the director-general of the alumni association of UCAS, introduced what they did for the alumni and hoped that the alumni could have a brighter future. Prof. Wang Shouyang, the vice dean of the School of Management, bowed to the alumni before he spoke to express his gratitude to the alumni. He pointed out the importance of the alumni and hoped that the alumni could give their advice and support the development of the school to realize win-win of both the school and the alumni.
He Xiaoming and Zhang Beijun spoke on behalf of the alumni. They reviewed their school days, thanked the school for providing this opportunity for the graduates to get-together, expressed their wishes to support the development of the school and wished the school a brilliant future.
Following that, Prof. Shan Chunchang, the counselor of the State Council, brought a lecture entitled “Risks And Challenges Facing China’s Public Security” to the alumni. Prof. Shan used a great deal of data and living examples to show the huge loss caused by various disasters and crises, pointed out the importance of emergency management, reminded the people of the awareness of the unexpected development. The lectured lasted for about two hours and won warm applause from the audience.
