Prof. Fang Shucheng from North Carolina State University Visited School of Management

Prof. Fang Shucheng from North Carolina State University visited the School of Management on Dec. 11 and brought a wonderful academic report to the teachers and students of UCAS. Prof. Wang Shouyang, the executive vice dean hosted the lecture.

Prof. Fang has made a series of important achievements in the field of math programming, fuzzy optimization, decision analysis, logistics and supply chain, telecom network design and optimization and intelligent decision support system. In 2002 he was elected member of U.S. Academy of Industry and Engineering.

Prof. Fang Shucheng

 The subject of Prof. Fang’s lecture was Linear Cone Programming. He first introduced some commonly used linear tools for decision analysis and pointed out their disadvantages, them he put forward the concept of linear cone programming and its features, theories, usability, algorithm validity and  research hotspots.

The audience raised many questions after the lecture and Prof. Fang answered them patiently. They hoped to have more opportunities later on to communicate with Prof. Fang.
