Mr. Ushio Sumita, Professor from Graduate School of Systems and Information Engineering, University of Tsukuba, visited School of Management with his two Chinese students on the afternoon of March 11, 2013. They presented their research with the teachers and students from School of Management during the Symposium. Vice Dean, Prof. Zhao Hong, accompanied by the international cooperation office, received their visit and hosted the whole symposium.

The three visitors presented their research in the field of E-marketing, customer flow measurement system and shopping center management. They not only talked about their research theory and methods, but also presented their research results.
The teachers and students of the School of Management participated in the symposium and made in-depth discussion with the visitors. Both sides expressed willingness to have more cooperation in other academic fields in the future.
Ushio Sumita is a professor at Graduate School of Systems and Information Engineering, University of Tsukuba, Japan. He received his first Ph.D. in 1981 from the University of Rochester, U.S.A. and his second Ph.D. in 1987 from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. Prior to joining University of Tsukuba, he taught at Department of Industrial Engineering at Syracuse University, William E. Simon Graduate School of Management at University of Rochester, Stern School of Business at New York University in the United States, and Graduate School of International Management at International University of Japan. With a wide range of research interests including Applied Probability, Stochastic Processes, Queuing Theory, Financial Engineering, e-Marketing, Information Technology, Production Management, and Logistics Management, he has published more than 150 papers in leading archive journals in these areas.
