The 6th lecture of “Serial seminar on Academic Training for Postgraduates and Doctoral Students” was held in Classroom S102, Teaching Building of the School on Jan. 2nd. Professor Jizhong ZHOU, as the PhD supervisor of the School, was invited to give the lecture entitled “My Understanding towards the Innovation Management Research”. About 100 young faculty members and doctorate students of the School attended the lecture.
Vice Dean, Professor Dong Jichang chaired the whole lecture. He introduced Professor Zhou’s outstanding academic achievement in the field of innovation management, enterprise management, Technological Policy Management. Professor Zhou has won many awards and has hosted many Projects of Natural Science Foundation of China and many other consulting projects. He also has published many academic books, such as “Rejuvenating Country Through Innovation—Innovation Management And The Rise And Fall Of A Nation”, “Science and Technology Innovation Management”.
Prof. Zhou Jizhong
Professor Zhou began with his own experience, and mainly talked about the innovation management in China. From 1988 to 1989, he was in charge of one of the 1st National Natural Science Fund Project — " The Scale and Structure of China's science and technology investment". This project provided important basis for new rules for the National Science and technology statistics. He focused on how to choose research topics, how to do the management research, and explained the important process to form an academic problem from a management problem.
The lecture explained profound theories in simple language. In the end of the lecture, Professor Zhou also cited the life-learning stories to encourage everyone to keep learning and to do more research.
