MBA Students Won “Gull Prize” in Asia-Pacific Business Schools Desert Challenge Competition 2014

Desert Challenge Competition 2014 among business schools in Asia-Pacific areas was officially held on April 30. 538 MBA students from 37 business schools nationwide gathered at Tengger Desert, to participate in the 3-day competition.

 

On the morning of May 3, the last team member of UCAS arrived at the destination. The competition was completed at 11:30 a.m. that day, and UCAS team achieved very satisfying grades. 6 out of 37 teams won “Gull Prize”, the highest prize of the competition, and UCAS team was one of the teams. The team-leader Qin Weidong, won No.9 out of 500 competitors, counting on the strong will and fighting spirits.

The UCAS team was composed of 12 players, 3 observers, and 1 reporter. In the competition, the whole team was divided into 5 groups. The team arrived at Yinchuan on the evening of April 30. On the morning of May 1, all the participants went to the starting point by bus. With the sound of the whistle, out went 37 teams from different business school. The 70 kilometers long journey started.

 

For the first day, participants had to walk 25 kilometers. Most people came to the desert for the first time, and when they finished the journey, they had got blisters on their feet. But everyone was happy to complete the first part of the competition. On the second day, people got up at 5:30 to clear away the tents and packed up. The competition started at 9:00. Most teams finished the journey at about 4 o’clock. UCAS team only used 4 hours to arrive at the destination. On the last day, people walked for 12 kilometers, and the whole competition was completed at 11:30 A.M.
