The opening ceremony for new students of 2014 was held at Zhongguancun Campus on the morning of Sept. 2. All the teachers of the School of Management, together with 366 Master, Doctor and MBA students of 2014 attended the ceremony.
Dong Junshe, Vice President of UCAS, first addressed on the ceremony. He welcomed the coming of the new students, and hoped that they could make full use of the resource of UCAS, acquired genuine knowledge through practice and become a person with lofty ideals, sense of responsibilities, and become the pillars of the state and the nation.
Then Professor Wang Shouyang, Executive Dean of School of Management, made a speech. He started from the excellent faculty the School owns and the achievements the School has made, combing with cases of international competitions that Chinese enterprises involved in, introduced the index system of world first class management talent. Wang Shouyang pointed out that the world first class management talent should have the following qualifications: ambition, nobility, sense of times and sense of mission, reasonable knowledge structure, strong learning ability, ability to analyze and solve problems, understanding of subject frontiers, understanding of Chinese management circle, innovative, competitive, and brave. Wang Shouyang hoped that students would foster their overall abilities on the excellent platform that School of Management provided for them and make their contributions to the economic and social development in China in the future.
Finally, Zhang Ming and Sun Xilong, on behalf of the new students, spoke on the ceremony. They thanked the teachers and upperclassmen for the services they offered to them, and felt proud to be a student of UCAS. They hoped to gain knowledge and wealth at this new starting point of UCAS.
