School of Management UCAS jointly held an international academic seminar on the 10th of September. The theme of the seminar was Globalization of Chinese Enterprises -- Foreign Direct Investment and Overseas Mergers.
The seminar mainly focused on current situation of foreign direct investment of Chinese enterprises and the development trend of foreign direct investment. Experts and scholars from Durham University, Chengzhi Shareholding Co., CCTV Channel of Finance, and the School of Management shared their research achievement on the seminar.
Professor Zhao Hong, Vice Dean of the School of Management of UCAS, first gave a welcome speech. Then Professor Robert Dixon, Dean of School of Business of Durham University, introduced the importance of FDI for China. He also analyzed the situation of China’s investment to EU and looked into the future.
Then Mr. Long Dawei, President of Chengzhi Shareholding Co. talked about the history and current situation of cross-border M&A, and put forward his views about the development trend of FDI.
Professor Richard Harris, Director of Financial Department of School of Business of Durham University made a report on China’s FDI to Europe—Opportunity of Expansion. The report compared the investment made by China and U.S. in Europe.
Mr. Ma Guangyuan from CCTV raised the problems existing in China’s cross0border M&A and the challenges in the future.
After that, Dr. Zheng Dan, Associate Professor Lu Ping and doctoral candidate Li Suxiao from School of Management shared their research findings.
The seminar was closed successfully finally. The participants of the seminar hoped that more academic seminars like this could be held in the future.
