On Jan. 29, Executive Dean Wang Shouyang received the official notification and a letter of congratulation from AMBA-the Association of MBAs, congratulating on the successful accreditation of four MBA programs, namely, Part-time MBA, Full-time MBA, Financial MBA, and Entrepreneurship MBA. the accredited period would be five years. This was the first international accreditation that School of Management had attended and passed, which meant that the quality of MBA education of School of Management had been accepted internationally. Being a member of AMBA, School of Management would do better to push the internationalization in the future. And it also provided a good opportunity for School of Management to promote school-running standards.
The accreditation was initiated in the beginning of 2014. School of Management regarded the AMBA accreditation as the important measures of the international strategy and set up the international accreditation office. Vice Dean Dong Jichang was appointed Director of the office, and the accreditation was greatly supported by leaders of UCAS, leaders and faculty of School of Management. During the process of accreditation, School of Management further defined her development strategy and MBA programs’ development, straightened up the curriculum system, teachers and alumni, etc. Hardware improvement such as reconstruction of the case rooms and laboratories were carried out.
On the 11th of Octorber, 2014, School of Management passed the pre-accreditation, and on Dec. 8 and 9, Professor Martyn Jones, Vice President of Kingston University, Professor Wang Zhongming, representative of AMBA in China, Professor Philip McLaughlin, President of ESC Bordeaux, and Mr. George Iliev, Director of AMBA accreditation, visited and assessed School of Management on-site.
During the two days, the experts from AMBA had some in-depth talks with leaders of UCAS, leaders of School of Management and MBA program directors. They also had conversations with representatives of teachers, students, alumni, and employers of students graduated from School of Management. They also checked the accreditation materials carefully, inspected MBA classrooms, case rooms, laboratories, and library. The experts highly evaluated the features of Financial MBA and Entrepreneurship MBA programs, the solid research basis and outstanding achievements under a series of innovative measures. They also raised very constructive suggestions for School of Management to build world-leading MBA and EMBA programs.
