School of Management, UCAS and Faculty of Business, HongKong PolyU signed an agreement on Joint Ph.D Program in 2013. According to the agreement, both schools will select 3 doctoral students from School of Management to stud in the PolyU for a year as researcher assistants. Each student will have two supervisors, one from UCAS and one from PolyU. The research areas include finance, accounting, logistics, shipping, management and marketing.
The program is now open for application. The applicants are advised to contact supervisors of PolyU first and then get ready the following materials under the assistance of PolyU supervisors.
1） Proposal Form RPSS-PA-F31-UCAS “Appendix Bii”– FB Co-supervisor should summarise the application under section 1 of the application form and indicate how it meets the selection criteria.
2）CVs of the supervisors from FB and SM of UCAS including:
a. A list of publications
b. Year of the PhD obtained
c. Post at the university (specify full-time/part-time)
d. Date of becoming a PhD supervisor
3）Letter of appointment as Co-supervisor from the Head of SM of UCAS including:
a. The name of the Co-supervisor from FB
b. The name of the Chief Supervisor from SM of UCAS
c. The name of the PhD student
d. Responsibilities of the Co-supervisor from FB
e. Project title
f. Appointment period
4）CV of the prospective PhD student including:
a. The period of PhD studies (specifying start and end dates)
b. Information on the PhD student’s journal paper (if any) (e.g. the language of the journals where the papers are published/accepted, whether the journals are JCR journals, etc)
